How we prevent swelling
WHY OUR SLEEVES ALLOW YOU TO FOCUS
ON PRODUCTIVITY AND NOT PROBLEMS
Sleeve swelling is one of the biggest challenges in the flexographic printing
industry. Many issues can arise if this is not addressed early. The most common issues that can arise are as follows:
SLEEVE TOLERANCE
- Swelling degrades sleeve tolerance Swelling has a major impact on tolerance. As the sleeve deforms, this can create a number of printing accuracy issues. These are doughnuts or excessive dot gain which ruins the final print.

PRINT QUALITY
- Cascading print quality issues
Printing quality will be affected negatively due to the previous issues
of misalignment. Mistakes will add up and this could lead to having to do the print job again.

REDUCTION IN SLEEVE LIFESPAN
- Sleeves that swell don’t last as long
If the sleeves are not designed properly and deform often, this will mean shorter lifespans and will require frequent new sleeve purchases, especially for a highly productive printing house.

SIGNIFICANT COST INCREASE
- With shorter lifespans, these sleeves need to be replaced
When you take into consideration all these issues that can arise from swelling, costs will increase due to the need to purchase more.
